Ingredients

3/4 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated
3/4 c. milk
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add well-beaten egg yolks.
Then alternately add milk and flour, which has been sifted with the baking powder.
Then add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla extract.
Bake in two 9-inch layer pans, greased and lined on bottom with waxed paper, in 375\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
