Corn Pone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 1/2 c. self rising flour
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. favorite flavoring if desired
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar, then blend eggs in.
    Mix dry ingrdients together.
    Pour milk and flavoring (if used) into rest of ingredients.
    Bake in lightly greased pan, or muffin tin.
    Bake 450\u00b0 until golden brown.
    Insert toothpick into center to test if done.
