Glogg - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. dry red wine
    1 pt. sweet vermouth
    2 Tbsp. Angostura Bitters
    2 c. raisins
    peelings of 1 orange
    12 whole cardamons, bruised *
    10 whole cloves
    1 piece (about 2 inches) fresh ginger, thinly sliced
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. Aquavit
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. whole almonds, blanched and peeled
Preparation
    *Bruise in a mortar with a pestle or by covering with a towel and crushing with a rolling pin.
