Spicy Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. rolled oats
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. (1 stick) soft butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

In mixing bowl gradually add sugar to butter, creaming well. Beat in vanilla and eggs.
Add oats mixture.
Mix well.
Sift together remaining ingredients.
Add and stir until well blended. Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
Frost in pan with Lazy Daisy Frosting.
