Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and shortening.
Add egg yolks.
Beat well.
Sift together flour and soda.
Add to creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in coconut, vanilla and nuts. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in three 8-inch cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Use Cream Cheese Icing.
