Betty Ann Colombo'S Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 unbaked pie shell
    4 eggs
    1 1/4 c. dark corn syrup
    1 c. dark brown sugar
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. pecans (whole and halves)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Line pie shell with pecans in a circular pattern.
    Beat eggs in a bowl until well mixed (not whipped).
    Set aside.
    Put sugar and syrup into a heavy saucepan (small pot).
    Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth.
    Pour hot syrup mixture gradually into eggs, constantly stirring.
    Add the butter and keep stirring until butter is melted.
    Stir in vanilla extract.
