Ingredients

6 large onions
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp. cooking oil
Preparation

Slice onions 1/2 inch thick and cover with cold water.
Let stand for 30 minutes.
Wipe dry and separate rings.
Mix flour, salt and sugar.
Combine egg and milk and add dry ingredients. Add oil.
Mix thoroughly.
Dip onion rings into batter and fry in deep fat until brown.
Drain.
