Best Ever Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. heavy cream
    1 c. milk
    1 c. butter
    1 1/4 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix together in heavy pan all ingredients except vanilla and nuts. Cook slowly over medium heat, stirring.
    Cook to 250\u00b0
    or firm ball. Remove from heat. Add the vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Cool. When firm, turn out on cutting board and cut into bite size pieces.
    Wrap in wax paper squares.
