Betty'S Hawaiian Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. spareribs, cut into 1 1/2-inch strips
    3/4 c. cornstarch
    1/4 c. molasses
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. water
    3/4 c. pineapple juice
    1 can pineapple chunks
    2 green peppers, cut into 1-inch cubes
Preparation
    Brown ribs in heavy frypan or Dutch oven.
    Combine cornstarch, molasses and soy sauce to make paste. Spread paste on both sides of ribs. Re-brown quickly in hot fat.
    Combine sugar, vinegar, water and pineapple juice. Heat until sugar dissolves.
    Pour over ribs.
    Cover and cook 25 to 30 minutes. Add pinapple chunks and green pepper cubes.
    Re-cover. Simmer 5 minutes longer.
    Makes 8 servings.
