Great Grandma'S Soft Ginger Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. boiling water
    1 3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda,
    ginger,
    cinnamon and salt together. Cream sugar and shortening with molasses until well blended in a large bowl.
    Add\tdry sifted ingredients to bowl alternately with boiling water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients; stir in eggs.
    Pour into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Bake in moderate oven
    at
    350\u00b0\tfor 30 minutes or until center springs back when
    pressed with fingertip.\tCool in pan at room temperature.
