Poppycock - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. unpopped popcorn
    1 stick margarine or butter (1/2 c.)
    1/2 c. white syrup
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Pop the popcorn and set aside.
    Melt butter; stir in syrup, sugar and salt.
    Boil slowly, about 5 minutes.
    Pour over popcorn. Mix until popcorn is well coated.
    Stir in 1 cup of mixed nuts or salted peanuts if desired.
    Place on cookie sheets and bake in oven at 250\u00b0 for 1/2 hour.
    Stir occasionally.
    When done, spread out on waxed paper and cool.
    Then break up into pieces.
