Apple Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 c. solid shortening
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3/4 c. molasses
    1 c. milk
    Apple Filling
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients into bowl; cut in shortening until dough resembles coarse crumbs.
    Blend in molasses, eggs and milk.
    Dough should resemble biscuit dough.
    Roll or knead dough and pat into thin layers.
    This makes 7 layers.
    Bake in 9-inch pans, greased and lined with brown paper.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for about 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
    Turn out on cloth to cool.
