Macaroni And Beef Italiano - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. uncooked macaroni
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    3/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 tsp. salad oil
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. each salt and sweet basil
    2 tsp. butter or margarine
    3 tsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    8 oz. pkg. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook and drain macaroni.
    In large skillet, saute onion, green pepper and beef in salad oil.
    Drain excess fat.
    Stir in 1 1/4 cups spaghetti sauce, 1 teaspoon salt,
    basil
    and water. Bring to a boil, cook 5 minutes, stirring often.
    In
    a
    saucepan, melt butter, add flour and gradually blend in
    milk.
    Cook until thick.
    Remove from heat and add
    cheese,
    1/2
    teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
    Stir\tuntil
    cheese melts.
    Pour meat sauce into a 3 quart greased casserole dish or

    9 x 2-inch pan. Spoon macaroni on top.
    Smother with cheese sauce. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Drizzle
    remaining
    sauce on top. Serves 6 to 8.
