Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. white Karo
    1 stick margarine
    1 lb. peanuts, shelled
    pinch of salt
    6 drops of red food color
Preparation
    Put sugar, water and Karo in large pan. Let boil over medium-high heat until it comes to a full rolling boil. Add peanuts and food color. Boil to hard ball stage. Remove from heat; add salt and margarine. Beat 5 to 7 minutes until it begins to thicken. Pour into buttered or sprayed (using Pam) small aluminum tins or pour onto cookie sheet and break into pieces when cooled.
