Candied Crisp Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    1 c. lime
    1 gal. water
    vinegar
    sugar
    pickling spices
Preparation
    Wash and slice cucumbers.
    Cover with lime water (1 cup lime to 1 gallon water).
    Let stand overnight.
    Wash.
    Put in enamel container.
    Cover with vinegar and sugar (equal amounts).
    Add pickling spices to suit your taste.
    Cook for 3 hours, just barely boiling.
    Put in sterile jars and seal.
