Sweet Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. coarsely ground cornmeal
2 c. white flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 large eggs, separated
1 c. rich milk or half and half
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Combine the egg yolk, milk, vanilla and melted butter.
Stir into the dry ingredients until they are thoroughly moistened.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter carefully. Pour into a 3-quart shallow baking pan that has been buttered well.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until it tests done.
If desired,
two 8-inch square pans may be used.
