Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. fresh broccoli, chopped or 2 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
12 oz. chicken broth
4 Tbsp. butter
4 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. half and half
1 c. whipping cream
2 Tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
1/8 tsp. white pepper
Preparation

Combine broccoli, celery, onion and chicken broth.
Heat to boiling; lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
Add flour and mix, then add 1/2 cup milk to make a white sauce.
Stir the white sauce into broccoli mixture. Add the rest of the milk, half and half and cream.
Add seasoning and mix well.
Heat until the soup thickens, about 20 minutes.
