Pear Conserve - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. pears, peeled, cored and chopped through food chopper
    1 1/2 lb. sugar
    1/2 lb. raisins
    2 oranges and their juice
    grated rind from 1 orange
    nut meats (if desired)
Preparation
    Cook together until thick.
    Cook very slowly, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Add chopped nut meats when cooking is done, as heat toughens the nut meats.
    Put into jars and seal.
