Applesauce Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. applesauce
    1/2 c. solid shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 (8 oz.) pitted and sliced dates
    2 c. seedless raisins
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 (8 oz.) red glace cherries, sliced
    1 (8 oz.) green glace cherries, sliced
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Combine applesauce, solid shortening and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
    Then cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Let cool.
