Ingredients

1/8 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
3 c. milk
3 eggs
1/2 c. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan and add brown sugar.
Cook together until bubbling.
Remove from heat.
In a bowl, put cornstarch and salt.
Gradually add the milk and egg yolks, beating until smooth. (Save egg whites for meringue.)
Add milk and egg mixture to brown sugar mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until starts to boil and eventually gets thick.
Pour into your favorite pie shell and top with meringue.
