M&M Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. and 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. M&M's

Preparation

In a large bowl, mix shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Beat in vanilla and egg.
In another bowl, sift flour, baking soda and salt.
Add dry ingredients to sugar and egg mixture.
Blend well.
Stir in 1/4 cup M&M's (save some for decorating).
Drop rounded teaspoonful of cookie dough 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Decorate tops with remaining candies.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
