Chess Meringue Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp. meal
1/2 stick margarine, melted
1 small can Pet milk (5 1/2 oz.)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. sugar
1 unbaked pie shell
Preparation

Mix 1 cup sugar, egg yolks, meal, margarine, Pet milk and vanilla.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes and then at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until pie is set.
When pie is done, add the cream of tartar to the egg whites.
Beat until stiff peaks form.
Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar and continue beating until well mixed.
Spread on baked pie and return to 350\u00b0 oven until meringue is brown.
