Dad Baughman'S Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pinto beans
    1 Tbsp. or 4 medium red hot peppers, chopped
    2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 lb. English bacon or ham
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Wash
    beans.
    Put
    in
    big pot.
    Add pepper, garlic and chili powder.
    Cover
    with
    3
    quarts lukewarm water and cook gently for
    1 hour.
    Add the bacon, cut in one-inch cubes and cook slowly for about 2 hours or until tender.\tStir carefully and
    add boiling
    water (when needed).
    Add the salt the last half hour before serving.
    Serves 20.
