Rolled Oats Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 or 1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. shortening or margarine
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Pour the boiling water over the oats; let stand for 20 minutes.
    Cream together the shortening or margarine, sugars and eggs.
    Add the remaining ingredients; mix well.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes in an 8 x 11-inch or 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Spread topping on hot cake.
