Sourdough Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. corn oil
    1 egg
    1 c. sourdough starter
    1 1/4 c. milk
    5 1/2 c. unbleached flour
Preparation
    Mix ingredients with 2 1/2 cups of the flour.
    Beat for 3 minutes.
    Stir in remaining flour to make
    a
    soft
    dough. Knead for 8 minutes.
    Place dough in greased
    bowl
    and
    turn over. Cover with linen cloth and let
    rise
    overnight.
    Next morning, punch down and divide into 3 parts.
    Shape into round loaves and place on greased cookie sheets.
    Cover and let rise until double (6 to 10 hours).
    Bake at 350\u00b0
    for
    30
    minutes. Brush with butter, if desired.
    Cool on rack.
    Makes 3 loaves. Alternatively, 3 small loaves (8 1/2 x 4 1/2
    x
    2 1/2-inches) or 2 large loaves (9 x 5 x 3-inches) can be made.
