Ingredients

1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 c. soft bread crumbs
1 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 Tbsp. butter
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Put first 4 ingredients in a double boiler top.
Cook over hot water until smooth.
Stir in butter.
Beat eggs until light and add salt, vanilla and milk.
Stir into chocolate mixture and cook until thick.
Pour into a serving dish.
(For a firmer pudding, pour into a buttered baking dish and bake for 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.) Serve hot or cold with whipped cream.
Serves 4 to 6.
