Bacon And Cheese Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. yellow corn meal
1 1/2 c. milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar
5 slices cooked bacon, cooled and crumbled
Preparation

Preheat and grease a medium cast-iron skillet.
Heat corn meal and milk over medium heat until thick and dry.
Stir frequently for 3 minutes, then spoon into mixing bowl.
Add butter and eggs and beat until smooth.
Stir in salt, baking powder, cheese and bacon.
Pour into preheated cast-iron skillet (or baking pan). Bake at 325\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until cooked through.
Serves 4.
