Hawaiian Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple (undrained)
1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange jello
1 (1 lb.) can sour cherries (tart; not pie filling)
2 or 3 medium bananas, diced
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 (9 oz.) pie shells, baked
1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping
Preparation

Mix sugar, flour and pineapple; heat to boiling.
Stir.
Add jello; stir until dissolved.
Add cherries (with their liquid); stir.
Cool to room temperature.
Add bananas and nuts.
Spoon into pie shells and chill.
Serve with topping; garnish as desired.
Serves 12 to 16.
