Squash Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    3 c. coarsely grated yellow squash
    1 medium onion, grated
    pepper to taste (optional)
Preparation
    Combine first 6 ingredients, beating until smooth.
    Stir in squash and onion; add pepper if desired.
    Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls into hot greased frying pan.
    Cook until golden, turning once.
    Drain on paper towel and serve.
