Sweet Potato Bread - cooking recipe

3 c. sugar
1 c. oil
4 eggs
2 c. mashed sweet potatoes
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped dates or raisins
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix the first 5 ingredients and set aside.
Sift together the flour, soda, salt and spices.
Use 1/4 cup flour mixture to dredge raisins and nuts.
Add flour mixture to sweet potato mixture and mix well.
Grease and flour four 1-pound coffee cans.
Divide mixture evenly in cans.
Bake at 290\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 2 hours or until done.
