Skillet Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. corn meal
1/3 c. shortening, melted
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. milk
Preparation

Sift flour with baking powder, sugar and salt.
Add corn meal and mix.
Melt shortening in skillet.
Combine beaten egg, milk and melted shortening.
Add flour mixture and blend.
Pour into hot greased iron skillet.
Bake in hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
