Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. squash
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 stick margarine
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. onions, chopped
    1/4 c. bell pepper, chopped
    1/2 c. pecans, chopped or water chestnuts
    1/2 c. grated cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook squash. Drain and mash. Add all ingredients (except margarine and cracker crumbs).
    Place in 2-quart casserole, greased.
    Top with crumbs and dot with margarine.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes. (Suitable for freezing.)
    Serves 6 to 8.
