Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium potatoes
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 c. water
    salt to flavor (pepper if preferred)
    1/2 c. shredded or chopped cheese
    3 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Prepare potatoes for soup, cutting them into small squares. Place with chopped onion and seasoning in pan with water to simmer until tender.
    Add milk slowly while stirring and warm.
    Do not boil.
    Float on butter and cheese if wanted.
