Texas Pinto Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. pinto beans
1 onion, chopped
1 small strip salt pork
1 large garlic clove, minced
water
salt to taste
chili powder (optional)
Preparation
-
Soak pinto beans overnight; drain.
Place ingredients in a large heavy kettle.
Add water to cover beans 3 inches.
Cook slowly until beans are soft (3 hours).
Add salt to taste before beans are done.
