Ingredients

1 Tbsp. yeast
1 c. warm water
4 c. unbleached flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
additional water
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add this to flour, sugar and salt that has been sifted together.
Add enough of a second cup of water to stir up a soft and sticky dough.
Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk.
About 1 1/2 hours.
When dough has risen, punch down vigorously and divide into 2 round loaves.
Place in well buttered Pyrex casserole dishes, about 3 x 6-inch.
Let rise again until double.
Place in cold oven, set heat at 350\u00b0 and bake 1 hour.
