Hush Puppies(Serve With Fish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. cornmeal
pinch of soda
buttermilk
1 egg
1 large onion, grated

Preparation

Grate onion on finest side of grate.
Add remaining ingredients with enough buttermilk to make thick batter.
Make batter before frying fish to allow it to rise.
Drop small spoonfuls into hot fat where fish have been fried.
Brown on both sides.
