Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Place all ingredients except soda in iron skillet over medium heat.
    Boil, stirring constantly.
    Cook until mixture smells scorched, about 10 to 15 minutes.
    Stir with wooden spoon.
    Take off heat and add soda.
    Stir quickly.
    Spread on buttered cookie sheet.
    Let cool; pop out of pan and break in pieces.
