1-2-3-4 Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. flour
3 c. plain flour
4 eggs, separated
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cornstarch
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks one at a time to creamed mixture.
Save whites for beating.
Sift flour, baking powder and cornstarch together.
Combine milk and vanilla and add the dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture, beating well.
Beat egg whites until they form stiff peaks. Gently fold them into mixture
Pour into buttered and floured cake pans. You may use 3 (8 inch) pans, 2 (9 inch) pans or a 9 x 13 pan (it will be very full).
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. The oblong pan takes longer to bake, about 40 minutes.
