Potato Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 c. Irish potatoes, creamed
    1/2 c. sweet milk
    2 c. flour
    1 c. raisins, cooked
    4 eggs, well beaten
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 Tbsp. cloves
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 c. cherries, chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add the well beaten eggs; mix well, then add the creamed potatoes.
    Mix well.
    In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon.
    Add this sifted mixture and milk a little at a time to the mixture of butter, sugar and eggs.
    After this mixture is mixed well, add the nuts and cherries.
    Bake for approximately 1 hour at 375\u00b0.
    Test with toothpick to determine when done.
    This cake can be made in a loaf or in layers (I prefer layers).
