Marshmallow Icing For Lane Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    3 egg whites, beaten stiff
    12 marshmallows, cut in pieces
Preparation
    Cook granulated sugar, salt and water to a temperature of 238\u00b0 or until syrup spins a thread.
    Pour slowly over beaten egg whites, beating mixture as you do.
    While icing is still hot, fold in marshmallows, which have been cut in pieces.
    Beat until of a consistency to spread.
    Cover cake.
    Use your favorite white cake recipe.
    Three layers are needed.
