Date Nut Fingers - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. Dromedary pitted dates, chopped
Preparation

Beat eggs until foamy.
Beat in sugar and vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients and stir into other ingredients.
Mix in nuts and chopped dates.
(Best if mixed with hands to blend dates completely into mixture.)
Spread into greased 8-inch square pan. Bake in moderate slow oven (325\u00b0) for 25 to 35 minutes or until top has a dull crust.
Cut in finger sized pieces while warm. Cool, then remove from pan and roll in powdered sugar.
Makes 21 fingers (1 x 2 1/2-inches).
