Date Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. dates
    1 c. Pet milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook sugar and milk as for fudge.
    Just before soft boil, add dates.
    Bring back to boil for 1 minute.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla and nuts.
    Beat until stiff.
    Pour into long row on damp cloth; roll up until cold (can put into refrigerator).
    Remove from cloth and slice in 1/4-inch slices.
    Will keep well in cookie tin or wrapped in foil.
