Mandarin Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sliced almonds
    1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 head lettuce, torn into bite sizes
    2 medium stalks celery
    1/4 c. romaine lettuce (for texture)
    2 green onions (with tops), thinly sliced (2 Tbsp.)
    1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges
    Sweet And Sour Dressing (recipe follows)
Preparation
    Cook almonds (low heat) with sugar, stirring constantly, until sugar melts and almonds are coated (use wooden spoon).
    Cool on wax paper; pull apart.
    Store at room temperature.
    Place lettuce, romaine, celery and onions in plastic bag.
    Pour dressing in bag. Add oranges.
    Close tightly and shake until well coated.
    Add almonds and shake.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
