Applesauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 apples (Jonathans preferred)
    1 c. water
    2 dashes of salt
    1 3/4 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. white sugar
    1/3 c. butter
    vanilla to taste
Preparation
    Quarter and wash apples, but do not peel.
    Cover with water and cook until nearly tender; add salt, sugars, and butter.
    Cook until very tender.
    Put through strainer or in a blender and flavor with vanilla.
