Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
Preparation
    Combine
    sugar,
    water
    and
    syrup
    in saucepan.
    Cook, stirring constantly, at a boil for 5 minutes.
    Add peanuts and continue cooking
    5
    to 10 minutes, stirring until peanuts are turning golden brown.
    Remove from heat and add soda.
    Pour at once on
    greased cookie sheet.
    When cool, remove from pan and break into pieces.
    Can substitute pecans instead of peanuts.
