Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. cocoa
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. milk
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Sift cocoa with 1/3 cup sugar.
    Add milk gradually and stir until smooth.
    Combine shortening, salt and vanilla.
    Add 1 cup sugar gradually and cream thoroughly.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each egg.
    Add soda to flour and sift 3 times.
    Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with cocoa mixture, mixing after each addition until smooth.
    Pour into 2 (9-inch) layer pans.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes.
