Blackberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. soda (scant)
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves
    2 c. blackberries, drained
    2 Tbsp. blackberry juice
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add well beaten egg yolks. Dissolve soda in milk; add alternately with flour which has been well sifted.
    Fold in beaten egg whites and blackberry juice.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0.
    Bake in layers or tube pan.
