English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 lb. real butter
    1 c. nuts
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Use candy thermometer.
    Cook in heavy iron frying pan.
    Cook sugar and butter to soft crack on thermometer.
    Put in nuts and vanilla.
    Stir mixture well.
    Pour out on large pizza pan.
    Cool and break into small pieces.
