Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 mature, firm, green tomatoes
    salt
    freshly ground black pepper
    corn meal
    hot fat
Preparation
    Wash, dry and cut green tomatoes in thick slices.
    Sprinkle with salt; let stand 5 minutes, then drain.
    Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.
    Dredge in corn meal and fry in hot fat until lightly browned.
    Serve hot.
    Makes 4 servings.
