Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
Preparation

Cream butter; add sugar.
Beat in egg.
Combine dry ingredients.
Add alternately with milk and vanilla or almond extract.
Chill if dough is too soft for easy rolling.
Roll out on a well floured board fairly thick.
Cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.
Cool and frost with any vanilla icing.
